About Honduras Business Process Operations

Let our team coordinate the language. Let every voice be understood.

Some conversations carry more weight than others. A question about treatment. An explanation of a diagnosis. A patient searching for the right words. In these moments, language is not a formality—it is how people take part in decisions that affect their lives.

Honduras Business Process Operations (HBPO) was founded on a simple conviction: talent exists everywhere, but opportunity is not equally distributed. We work to connect qualified language professionals with organizations that need thoughtful, reliable multilingual support.

We are building a network rooted in human expertise, sound judgment, transparent expectations, and respect for the people on both sides of every conversation. We do not promise perfection. We commit to an approach that values preparation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

01 / THE OPPORTUNITY

Role Overview

We invite experienced Spanish–English medical interpreters to register interest in potential remote over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) and video remote interpretation (VRI) assignments. This is an invitation to join a developing candidate network—not an announcement of a guaranteed opening or work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret accurately, completely, and impartially between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals, using the mode appropriate to the encounter.
  • Convey meaning, register, tone, and relevant medical terminology without additions, omissions, or personal advice.
  • Apply professional boundaries, confidentiality, and the privacy/security instructions applicable to each assignment.
  • Request clarification when needed, manage communication respectfully, and disclose potential conflicts of interest.
  • Confirm accepted assignments, communicate professionally with coordinators, and participate in required quality review.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced working proficiency in spoken English and Spanish, including comprehension of varied accents and registers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the ethical responsibilities of healthcare interpreting.
  • Ability to remain calm, accurate, impartial, and respectful in sensitive conversations.
  • Reliable communication, punctuality, and readiness to follow assignment-specific instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior medical interpretation experience in OPI, VRI, or healthcare settings.
  • Documented interpreter training, relevant certifications, or recognized professional development.
  • Familiarity with remote interpreting platforms and healthcare workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience receiving feedback and improving professional practice.

Technical Requirements

  • Stable internet suitable for voice and, where required, video calls.
  • A functional computer or compatible device, microphone/headset, and camera for VRI.
  • A quiet, private workspace where conversations cannot be overheard.
  • Willingness to meet client-specific security, access, and equipment requirements before assignment.
02 / TRANSPARENT TERMS

Compensation & Schedule

Pay is established for each potential engagement before work begins. It may be based on connected minutes, a booked time block, or another agreed structure, depending on client requirements, market, language, and assignment type. No fixed pay rate has been approved for publication.

Work Schedule

  • Availability: Tell us your time zone, preferred coverage windows, and whether you accept scheduled or on-demand assignments.
  • Working hours: Remote opportunities may involve U.S. business hours, but shifts and volumes are determined by individual projects.
  • Guaranteed hours: None are offered through network registration. Any reservation of time or standby requirement must be addressed in a specific agreement.

Contract Details

  • Engagement: Project-based work, where offered and accepted. Worker classification and contractual arrangements depend on applicable law and the actual engagement.
  • Platform: Client-designated or HBPO-approved technology. No exclusive platform is promised.
  • Terms: Fees, billing units, cancellations, payment timing, confidentiality, and scope are documented before paid work is accepted.
  • Training: Any project-specific onboarding, assessment, or platform preparation requirements will be explained in advance.

04 / A LEADERSHIP-MINDED SELECTION PROCESS

Our Competency-Based Interview

A résumé tells us where you have worked. A thoughtful conversation helps us understand how you work. Where screening is required, we may use real-world scenarios to evaluate skills, judgment, and professional readiness. We look for evidence, not rehearsed slogans.

Our interviewers should apply consistent job-related criteria. We may also request language assessment or evidence of training as required by a specific client. Interview participation does not guarantee assignment selection.

Case-based conversation
Clinical accuracy

Tell us about a time you encountered unfamiliar medical terminology. How did you protect accuracy?

Ethical judgment

Describe a situation in which a speaker asked you to step outside the interpreter role. What did you do?

Composure under pressure

What steps do you take when the conversation is emotional, fast-moving, or difficult to follow?

Technical resilience

HBPO · LEADERSHIP
